Moving On and Transitions

All our learners next steps post Shorefields, is vital and we endeavour to support parents, carers and support agencies to help find the best placement opportunity relevant to their need.  Therefore we have created a handy 'Moving On and Transitions' directory which can be downloaded below.

Shorefields Provider Programme

The provider programme is designed to offer our students the very best chance to experience some of the (non-formal further education) opportunities that are available to them once they leave Shorefields.

It offers our students the chance to have a weekly placement at a verity of local providers, with the hope that every year 13 -14 student (where appropriate) can visit a provider one morning a week (6 visits per half term). The aim is that over the two years, students will have had the opportunity to discover what different providers have to offer them.

This programme will run alongside more traditional work experiences (where appropriate). Ensuring that our young people change to participate at significant placements, which are not just enriching, but meaningful and appropriate to their needs, wishes and aspirations, of both the young person, their families and carers.

The aim is to provide the students with recorded of evidence, of both suitable and less-suitable destinations, to help them and their families, ensure they go on to have a successful transition from Shorefields to their next destination.

School Leavers Destination
